Chilly Spring day

It's quite a bit cooler today and breezy now, the wind is blowing the blossom from the trees. Even the horse is back to wearing her coat.

Would you believe it she's not called Jezebel or Jasmine after all but her name is actually Yasmine although she does answer to Jaz when I call her.

I used to regularly feed her apples and carrots but Tilly has been getting more and more jealous so I've had to stop that but it looks like Yaz gets plenty of treats anyway.

There was another sign  on the fence offering free bags of manure but it looks like even Yaz is turning her nose up at those:)

It was nice to see the flock of sheep back in the nearby field along with their Spring lambs.

  1. We've had some lovely sunny days, if only the breeze would drop, it makes it so chilly. I did wonder about all the treats Yasmine gets from well-meaning passers by, especially the mints. I hope people take heed of the sign, she's a lovely horse and I don't think anyone would want her to get ill. It's lovely seeing all the lambs in the fields at the moment.

    1. The sun is shining now but it is still chilly and breezy, definitely need a jacket to go out in. I had to look up the average lifespan of horses and she is an old girl for sure. I'm sure she gets plenty of treats and I hope people take heed of the notice, I never did take any mints for her. Tilly was getting more and more agitated when I fed Yaz and it's not fair on her. I love to see all the lambs with their mothers too.

  2. I also had to look up the lifespan of horses and wow, she is a very old horse! I hope people take notice of the sign and don't feed her anything that will make her ill or worse.

    1. From what I've read she's the equivalent of a one hundred year old person! I do hope people take notice of the sign.

  4. Well that's just typical - I go out for a few hours and come back to find you've done a new post while I've been out :) lol. I like the note from Yasmine although her name is only one letter different and it sounds the same as before. I meant to get a couple of carrots from Asda the other day and go round to see her but totally forgot. It's been a lovely day here today, not too chilly but very windy - I don't know why I bothered doing my hair before I went out!

    1. I'm pretty sure I was told her name was Jasmine but then again I could have misheard knowing me :)
The wind was blowing my hair about too but I'm not having it cut...those curls were hard earned :)

  5. It's good to know the horse's real name, finally! I, too, hope that people will heed the sign and feed her only the recommended treats! Stay warm on those chilly spring days, Eileen. :)

    1. She answers to Jaz so I'll have to train myself to call her Yaz from now on :) I hope people will heed the sign and only give her what is recommended and what she likes to eat. It's definitely too soon to put the winter coats away.

  6. Whatever her name, she's looking good for 37. I do hope everyone pays attention to that sign because at that age she is unlikely to survive colic.

    1. I know nothing about horses Jayne but she looks good for her age to me. I hope people take notice of the sign. She's so friendly too I expect she takes whatever is offered to her.

  7. It's always good to know what to feed different animals. We feed 2 donkeys at a fruit barn, but as it is also an orchard, they give me bruised apples to give George & Mabel . 37 is an almighty age for her. Take care and hugs.

    1. She certainly is a good age and she looks well for it too. It's good to know she likes such a variety of things and I think I will take her something different and make sure Tilly has a few treats as well. I would love to be able to feed donkeys, I love their names George and Mabel :)
