Doggy paddle

The doggy paddling pool is a big hit with Tilly. I put a piece of vet bed in the bottom as suggested by Jayne  "to stop her slipping and protect against claws/punctures".

Tilly was already soaked from jumping in the water stream from the hosepipe as I was trying to fill it for her. I threw in a couple of her favourite balls and in she jumped.

In and out, in and out and a run round the garden was great fun

Jumping on my chair was  fun for Tilly  as well

Trying to dry her was a  good game

Wasn't that a waste of time as I can't keep her out of the pool now

  1. How lovely for her, that is sure to cool her down. Although Archie loves the sea and rivers and streams, he hates going in the bath and it's a palaver even standing him in a bowl to wash his feet when they're muddy so I'm not sure he'd use a paddling pool.

    1. She really enjoyed herself. My last dog Annie hated water. The first time we took her to the beach she was afraid of the sea but she was a rescue dog and we didn't know her history. Perhaps Archie goes in streams etc. if it's under his own steam but it's a totally different matter if you want to bathe him :)

  6. Oh my goodness 🤪 Eileen, you have absolutely made my day with this post - and you've probably made Tilly's day with the pool!

Such a joy to see her having so much fun - I hope she had the decency to sleep very soundly last night.

  7. I can't resist a cheeky "PS". You do know that poodles were orginally bred to retrieve from water? (giggle)

Had to come back and look at your photos again - such a delight to see her so happy with the paddling pool. xxx

    1. My daughter's two dogs used to enjoy "sausage bobbing" in their paddling pool so next time a few treats will go in for Tilly. I didn't put much water in until she got used to it....I needn't have worried :)
