Curls

Tilly has had her first proper grooming session and she's home now posing nicely for photos. It seems she wasn't too well behaved for the groomer but she's sleeping off her ordeal and will hopefully forget all about it until next time. We hadn't realised she would be such high maintenance, little madam that she is but we do love her.

While I'm on the subject of hair cuts I can honestly say I am low maintenance. I haven't been to the hairdressers for a trim for seventeen whole months. Yes, it was definitely March last year just before my cancer diagnosis. Admittedly I did lose all my hair while having chemotherapy but now my hair is growing  back very slowly for which I am very grateful and I do love my chemo curls when previously my hair was dead straight.

So for now Tilly loses her curls but I keep mine :-)

  1. Oh my goodness, look at all your curls. What a novelty after having straight hair. Ahhh, Tilly looks so cute after her trim, Archie is going to the groomers next week.

    1. Tilly and Archie will be much more comfortable when we have our next heatwave in August. I’m happy to be avoiding the hairdressers as I’m afraid I may lose those lovely curls :)

  2. Oh I love the middle photo of Tilly. She a little beauty.

Your curls are lovely too, although having naturally curly hair myself, I'll be wanting straight hair if I ever find myself in your position ☺️

    1. I think Tilly was in shock at having been groomed as she doesn't normally sit still like that for long.
I would love to have had naturally curly hair, how about we swap my natural poker straight hair for your curls :)

  3. Tilly looks so cute after her haircut, the way she's sitting in the second and third photos she looks rather like a cuddly toy :) I love your curly wavy hair, it's gorgeous and I hope you manage to keep it like that when you do finally have a trim :)

    1. The groomer gave Tilly a teddy bear cut so that explains why she looks like a cuddly toy :) I'm convinced the hairdresser would cut out those curls and waves and I'm resisting a visit for as long as I can :)

  4. Oh, congratulations on your curls - you look fantastic!

Did you take Tilly to a different groomer this time, because the last one you used didn't sound like they suited her very well? I may have already suggested this, but have you considered getting some clippers and learning how to do her yourself? I'd guess that over the years it could save you a small fortune in fees. Even if your first couple of clips are not perfect she might be less stressed and the hair will definitely grow back 💚 🐾

    1. I keep running my fingers through my curly, wavy hair and can't believe i have the curls I have always dreamed of having :)
I'll email you later re: the grooming situation. Although I regularly cut hubby's hair with clippers he does sit still, that's something Tilly would not do. She enjoys being brushed every day but I really don't have the confidence to clip her myself but thank you for the suggestion x

    1. Thanks Ann :)
The groomer said Tilly cried so I think she was more upset than naughty. They thought she was on springs as Tilly jumped for joy when I went to collect her :)

  6. Tilly looks good after her grooming & wow, curly hair for you. I always wanted curly hair & having dead straight sort of mousey red hair wasn't a good look. Take care & hugs.

    1. The groomers have done a lovely job on Tilly's haircut but I'm very reluctant to go and have my hair cut now I have the curls I've always wanted.

  7. Oh, wow! Your hair really is quite curly considering it was completely straight before. X

    1. I'm amazed as I didn't think my curls would last as long as they have. Shame Tilly had to lose hers though but we needed to keep her cool.
