Inspiration

My friend Eunice wrote a blog post about her Postcrossing hobby and showed some of the lovely postcards she has recently bought. Her blog post inspired me to show you the card she sent to me a couple of weeks ago. It was a complete surprise when it dropped through my letterbox and Eunice wrote inside that it reminded her of Tilly but wrong colour of course.

Little did Eunice know but  although Tilly is jet black with some white on her chest, Tilly's Mum is the spitting image of the dog on the card, a chocolate cockapoo. I didn't write any details about Tilly when I introduced her on my blog, but even more surprising is Tilly's Dad is an apricot cockapoo.  Tilly was from a litter of seven pups, six black girls and one apricot boy. The boy was already sold but we chose Tilly from the black sisters, we've always had bitches so we wanted a girl anyway.  Tilly was born on New Year's day so I won't ever forget her birthday and of course I think she is so cute with her poodle fur and spaniel face. I'm keeping the card in my dog journal and thank you so much Eunice.

Eunice also posted a photo of a lovely picture she has bought so I will show you the picture I bought for our recently painted wall in the  downstairs cloakroom. I found it online and it is handmade from pebbles, driftwood and sea glass finished with a twine frame.  It features a family of four and dog and I just had to have it. Some people are so talented and have such interesting hobbies. I sometimes wonder how on earth I manage to keep my blog going but now and then I get some inspiration from somewhere or other :)

  1. I'm glad you like the card, it was a pleasure to send it, and it's nice to know you're keeping it in your dog journal. Your picture is lovely, I love the cute little dog in it. Whoever made it must have a very good imagination to find pebbles the right size and shape to create the characters :)

  2. The card & mosaic picture are both lovely & I enjoy your blog, so do keep it going. I like seeing Tilly's progress & some great photos of Wales when you are able to get out and about. Take care, stay safe & hugs.

    1. Thank you Susan, what a lovely comment. It hasn't been easy during lockdown and I'm not a hundred percent fit and having no hobbies on the go it's difficult to know what to blog about at times. I'm glad you like seeing Tilly's progress, that's so good to know.

  3. Isn't it lovely when a card or letter drops through the letterbox and you know someone has been thinking about you. It happens less and less these days now that we're able to get in touch on electronic devices. The card you received from Eunice is so cute, and I absolutely love the picture you bought, how clever is that made from pebbles, driftwood and sea glass. You're right, some people are so talented.

    1. Eunice's card was so unexpected and her words were so nice. She's a lovely lady, I have met her and her son and we exchange emails so receiving her card was extra special. The picture is gorgeous, the things the artist finds for her work are from beaches in East Yorkshire and now they are here not far from beaches in north Wales :)

    1. Please don't tell her but we both know what a kind, thoughtful lady Eunice is and so are you too Jayne. I'm happy to call you my friends. How clever some people are to produce art like that, I liked it as soon as I saw it.

    1. I've spoken with other cockapoo owners who say the same that they are completely loopy. Yikes what have we done :)

I missed your previous blogpost about the harness and have just caught up .... hope the new one helps, there is nothing worse than being dragged along! So pleased about your news on the cancer treatment and success, and fingers crossed about the treatment on the treatment. 🤞

    1. It's a lovely little picture and it is clever. Tilly is cute and I must admit to be smitten myself :)
The new harness and lead are much better and there's a slight improvement in the pulling so it's a work in progress. I'm having to wait for yet another hospital appointment now but I'm in good hands so can't complain.
