Checking in

That wasn't a good week to have had my second cycle of chemo, not in a heatwave it wasn't. I'm grateful for the cooler temperatures and showers of rain this weekend. It's been too hot to sleep and too hot to sit in our conservatory.  I'll just show you my two tubs of roses which did like the heat. These are the roses my daughter bought me for Mother's Day this year which I re-potted, I like the way they tumble over the side of the pot and are a pale yellow.

These others are what she bought me three years ago and yes I did trawl back through my photos. I cut them right back a couple of months ago, very hard and quite late but I'm pleased they are flowering again, a nice deep yellow.

Just a quick check-in, I'm sure you'll understand, I'm not feeling my best at the moment.

  2. I love roses, especially yellow roses. The heat and humidity have been terrible here in the US the past week. Yesterday and today it has been pouring rain. I'm thankful for the cooler temperature but know it will feel like a sauna when the rain quits.

  3. I'm sorry you've been feeling rough Eileen, I'm sure everyone understands if there are times you don't feel like blogging. The roses look lovely and I really like the deep yellow of the second ones :)

    1. I think the chemo gets tougher with each cycle but follows a pattern and I know it'll be worth it in the end. I really like that I have two tubs of different shades of yellow roses in the conservatory.

  4. Hope you are feeling better with a spell of cooler weather. Here's an old Aussie tip....a wet towel placed on your clothes horse with a small fan behind quite often is a help as it blows cooler air, though as the towel dries, you'll need to wet it again. Your roses look lovely. Take care, stay safe & huggles.
