What have I done to deserve such wonderful blogging friends!!!
I follow the two blogs of Ann a very talented artist. If you haven't visited her blogs before, here are the links.
Ann also has an Etsy shop where she sells her artworks in oils and watercolours.
She knew I had a bit of an obsession with campervans and although we dreamt of owning one sadly that dream is unlikely to be realised. I have a small collection of campervans in the conservatory underneath the television, the large one being a 3D jigsaw puzzle.
At the start of this coranavirus crisis Ann painted a picture of a jaunty little campervan titled Silly Season and I left a comment asking if her painting was for sale as I liked it so much and wanted to own it for my conservatory. Ann very kindly emailed me and offered it to me as a gift, I was blown away by her generosity.
Today the postman delivered a parcel containing Ann's wonderful campervan oil painting
But that's not all, underneath there was a card to say there was another painting inside
titled -Annie- ' Always By Your Side"
I don't mind telling you that my husband and I cried when we saw it. The most wonderful oil painting of Annie which will be treasured. Words can't describe how moved we are by such kindness and such a thoughtful gift
I just hope the framing shop will be open for business so so that we can have the two paintings professionally framed to hang in our home.
Thank you so much Ann xx
The campervan painting is great and should make anyone smile but it goes without saying that the one of Annie is my favourite. I'm not surprised you cried, it's beautiful. Ann has captured Annie's likeness incredibly well - a wonderful thoughtful gift to be treasured for ever :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough Ann had let me know she had posted the campervan painting I certainly didn't expect her painting of Annie. As we gently pulled it out of it's wrapper we couldn't believe how beautiful it was, the tears flowed. To have such a gift has made us so very happy, what a lovely, kind friend she is.
DeleteOh how wonderful...!!!!

Ann is so talented but to do this especially for us means the world. As you say she is super nice.
DeleteOh my! The campervan painting is delightful, but it goes without saying the one of Annie is quite simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful and generous gesture from Ann. X
Ann's campervan painting will always make me smile, but her painting of Annie will always be dear to my heart. Thoughtful and generous are indeed the right words for Ann.
DeleteHow lovely Eileen. They are both to be treasured. The painting of Annie is gorgeous. My stepdaughter who lives in UK is a mad lover of Combi vans too & whilst visiting Castle Howard garden centre I bought her a Combi planter, which is now on display in her newly refurbished garden. Take care, stay safe & huggles.
ReplyDeleteThe paintings certainly will be treasured. I too bought a blue campervan planter for my garden last year. Not being a gardener I don't know what the plants were called that I put in it but they haven't flowered again this year yet and maybe they won't. I'll have to take a photo of it to see if we we've bought the same planters :)

ReplyDeleteYou are both very welcome. I enjoy painting so much and got a lot of pleasure from these two paintings. I feel I've received an A+ with your blogpost....cheers :)
You deserve five stars for what you have done for us Ann, A*****
DeleteThank you so very much xx
How lovely. To be gifted the painting you admired is one thing but to have such a beautiful portrait of your gorgeous Annie is quite another. I'm sure both paintings will be admired and treasured and will forever raise a smile.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Jo. It was so nice for Ann to gift me a painting I would have happily bought but for her to paint a portrait of Annie is beyond kindness. Words can't express how happy she has made us. I can't wait for both paintings to be framed and hanging on my living room wall now.
